Ethan Thompson officially closed the door Tuesday to a possible fifth year playing Oregon State basketball. Thompson said goodbye to college basketball with a social media post. The 6-foot-5 senior, who started a school-record 127 games over a four-year career, had the option to return next season because of an NCAA pandemic ruling that didn’t count the 2020-21 season against eligibility.

It could have been the last game for Ethan, a senior, playing for Stephen, an OSU assistant coach. Just like Thursday against UCLA, and Friday against Oregon, could have been the end.
