For three seasons, the whole joke with Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell) on The Boys has been that he doesn’t say a word. Turns out, there’s been a lot more going on in the Supe’s broken head, as we found out on this week’s episode, “Here Comes a Candle to Light You to Bed”. Spoilers past this point, but as we discover, this whole time Black Noir has been getting advice from a bunch of animated characters straight out of a Disney movie — or at least, straight out of a Chuck E. Cheese.

In the days following the Supreme Court's ruling to overturn Roe V. Wade - a landmark decision that gave anyone who can become pregnant bodily autonomy and the liberty of choice - those in the anti-choice movement have crept out in droves. Among the handful of near-sighted and misguided options these folks offer to the people no longer able to make extremely personal decisions for themselves is adoption. Outside the Supreme Court, a photo was snapped of a smiling young couple, eerily resembling something out of a Jordan Peele (Nope) horror, holding a sign between them that read "We Will Adopt Your Baby." In response — as our younger generations so often do to absorb and process new devastations — people have taken to the internet, satirizing this oversimplified solution via the "We'll Adopt Your Baby" meme. The meme has gained quick traction now that some big names, like filmmaker Mike Flanagan and Eric Kripke (The Boys), have joined in.

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, white evangelical couples gleefully capitalized on abortion rights being scattered to the wind by posting photos of themselves with either signs or captions that read, “We will adopt your baby.” On top of completely failing to read the room, the whole thing was super creepy, and it didn’t take long for the couples to start getting roasted on social media.

One of the highlights of Episode 5 of Season 3 of The Boys on Amazon's Prime Video streaming service is the big musical number featuring Frenchie (Tomer Copone) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara)--it is certainly the most wholesome one of the season. The Boys are back! With the long-awaited premiere of the hit Prime Video series' third season finally hitting our home screens, we can welcome the return of our favorite irreverent, disturbing, and often downright nasty supes who couldn't be further from heroic — as well as the group of resident misfits the show is named for who are determined to hold them accountable for previous and current misdeeds. One of the latest additions to the series this season just so happens to be Soldier Boy, a twisted take on another classic American-rooted comics hero whose arrival on The Boys is set to shake things up in more ways than just one. The hopelessly smarmy supe is played by Jensen Ackles, and the role reunites him with show creator Eric Kripke — the two worked together for a time on Supernatural when the series was first taking off on the now-CW — and let's just say that Soldier Boy is a pretty far cry from anything Dean Winchester ever was, even on his worst day.

This week, Prime Video’s The Boys is finally back on our screen for Season 3 — and they’re bringing a brand new face with them: Supernatural star Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. The series’ messed up take on Captain America is the original superhero, and part of an overall mystery that fuels the season. Supernatural fans were thrilled when creator Eric Kripke managed to, as showrunner of The Boys, re-team with Jensen Ackles for Season 3 of the Amazon show. Ackles hit the weights hard to train for his role as Soldier Boy (a Captain America parody) and should antagonize the heck out of Homelander in the coming episodes. It should be a real trip to watch Antony Starr’s marvelous facial expressions as a result of this impending conflict, and let’s hope that the show can live up to its reputation as one of the most genre-bending and unapologetic swings in the superhero realm.

The Boys recently released a Season 3 trailer that revealed how Homelander (Antony Starr) is trying hard to keep his sh*t together after coming close to rock bottom in the Season 2 finale. He ended up yanking his own chain far above the city, and you gotta wonder if his stuff murdered anyone due to gravity. Regardless of that possible collateral damage, Homelander is not well, and he’s got company in the form of Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), who newly arrives on the scene to parody Captain America.

If you’re a fan of The Boys on Prime Video, get ready to watch something awesome tomorrow. That’s because Amazon is dropping eight animated shorts set in the world of The Boys that really must be seen to be believed. I don’t want to spoil what the episodes are about, but I promise you none of them hold back on what you’ve come to expect from this twisted series which includes plenty of blood-drenched moments and shocking surprises.
