Eiza Gonzalez to Star in Thriller ‘Wolf Country’

Actor Eiza Gonzalez has been cast in the upcoming movie “Wolf Country.”. Described as a “muscular thriller” in the vein of the 2016 Jeff Bridges Western “Hell or High Water,” the film centers on a young deputy shunned by her entire community after she uncovers a large drug haul that implicates the town’s beloved sheriff, who also happens to be her father. When he escapes custody and flees into the rugged Colorado wilderness, his daughter must face the very man who taught her everything about right and wrong to bring him to justice.

Eiza González Shares How ‘Proud’ She Is To Represent Her Mexican Heritage For Spirit Untamed

Back in 2002, Dreamworks was ahead of the diversity inclusion curve with Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, by having the storyline heavily feature Native Americans, including the use of Native American voice actors as well. Nearly 20 years later, Spirit the Mustang is back for Spirit Untamed, and it turns the page to feature the Mexican culture, namely with Eiza González’s voice role.

Eiza Gonzalez Explains Why, Out of All the Projects She's Done, 'Spirit Untamed' Was the Closest to Her Heart

With director Elaine Bogan’s Spirit Untamed opening in theaters this weekend, I recently spoke to Eiza González about making the animated adventure. If you haven’t seen the trailer, the film is a heartwarming tale about the relationship between a young girl and the wild horse she encounters when she returns home to a small town at the edge of the open frontier. The voice cast also includes Isabela Merced, Julianne Moore, Jake Gyllenhaal, Marsai Martin, Mckenna Grace, Walton Goggins, Andre Braugher and Eiza González. Spirit: Untamed is the next installment in the Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron franchise, which includes an Emmy-winning TV series.

Eiza Gonzalez talks Spirit Untamed

FOX 5’s Kevin McCarthy gives us a look at The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. Plus, he speaks with Eiza Gonzalez about the animated family film, Spirit Untamed.

Who Should Eiza Gonzalez Play In The DC Cinematic Universe?

If there’s an actress out there who should be getting more roles, it should be Mexican native, Eiza Gonzalez. If you’re a moviegoer, you probably checked out the epic Godzilla vs. Kong, where she played a minor role as a secondary villain. She was good in the movie, but there was also a wasted opportunity with her character. A bit of a spoiler for those who haven’t watched the movie yet, she was the daughter of Demian Bichir’s character and was instructed to extract an energy sample to power up Mechagodzilla. Just when you thought she could be doing something good with Team Kong, she revealed to be a sneak and then Kong crushed her. Yeah, a bit of a waste. Then again, it’s a monster movie, so who really cares about the humans? However, I do believe that Eiza Gonzalez deserves more roles.
