If you look up Webster’s definition of tenacity, you might find a picture of Dwight Powell next to the word. Think about what his career has been like, in particular the other big men he’s seen the Mavericks employ during his nine NBA seasons – all but five games of which have been with Dallas.

Mavericks' Dwight Powell: Just 13 minutes in start

Powell closed Friday's 127-99 victory over the Nuggets with five points (2-2 FG, 1-1 FT), one rebound and one assist in 13 minutes. Powell started for the sixth straight game but once again failed to come close to putting up tangible fantasy production. He is currently the 250th ranked player this season, presenting as the poster child for players whose real-life value far outweighs their fantasy value. Barring a huge shift, he can be left on waivers in all but the deepest of formats.

Mavericks' Dwight Powell: Won't start vs. Brooklyn

Powell is coming off the bench for Monday's game against the Nets. Powell started Dallas' last contest Friday against the Raptors, but it'll be JaVale McGee who draws the start at center Monday evening. McGee hasn't logged heavy minutes in the starter's role over the last week or so, so Powell should still see plenty of chances to make an impact.

Mavericks' Dwight Powell: Disappears in win

Powell amassed two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound and one block in 16 minutes during Monday's 110-104 win over the Jazz. Powell played only 16 minutes and was a non-factor on both sides of the ball in Monday's Game 2 win. Most of the fanfare went to Jalen Brunson and Maxi Kleber in the victory while Powell posted one of his worst stat lines of the season, netting only one rebound in 16 minutes. By staying largely out of Rudy Gobert's way, the Mavericks may have found the ideal method to beat the Jazz, but the scheme will wreak havoc on Powell's output moving forward.
