Dustin Burrows is Being Sued by 13 Parties Over Abortion Law

On Thursday, September 23rd, State Representative Dustin Burrows of Lubbock was served with 13 lawsuits in relation to the recently passed Texas Heartbeat Act. The Texas Heartbeat Act allows private citizens to sue abortion providers and bans abortion once a heartbeat is detected. Burrows was one of many supporters of the legislation when it was passed in the Texas House earlier in 2021.

Dustin Burrows Announces Legislation to Stop UT From Leaving Big 12

Texas State Representatives Dustin Burrows of Lubbock has announced legislation intended to stop the University of Texas from leaving the Big 12 to join the SEC. It was first reported on Wednesday, July 21st that UT and the University of Oklahoma had been wanting to join the SEC, and this was confirmed on Friday, July 23rd by multiple sources, claiming the 2 schools would make a formal request to exit the Big 12 the next Monday.

Dustin Burrows Files COVID-19 Bill Supporting First Responders

Republican Representative of Texas House District 83, Dustin Burrows, has filed a bill focused on supporting Texas first responders who must quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19. House Bill 2037 states that city and county departments would be required to place a firefighter, police officer, or EMT on administrative leave with pay if they needed to quarantine due to on-duty exposure to COVID-19 or any other infectious disease.
