Douglas MacArthur “Mac” Garnand, 79, of Riner, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2021. Mac served honorably as a fourth grade of the specialist rank of United States Army Quartermaster Corps during the Vietnam Conflict, earning two purple hearts for his service. He retired from the United States Postal Service, and was a former member of the Riner Volunteer Fire Department.

CHURCH HILL - Douglas MacArthur “MACK” Qualls, 77, of Church Hill, TN has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior and reunited with loved ones. He was diagnosed with Colon Cancer in October, 2020 and was called to heaven after a quick decline of health at his home on March 15, 2021.

MH takes 2 of 3 junior high games from Douglas MacArthur

Mountain Home was able to pick up two wins hosting Douglas MacArthur from Jonesboro for three games. The freshman girls’ game ended with the Junior Lady Bombers beating the Lady Cyclones 33-16. Ashlyn Estes led Mountain Home with 12 points. The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 14-2 on the season.

MH gets 2 wins in 3 junior high games at Douglas MacArthur

Mountain Home picked up a pair of wins in Jonesboro for three junior high basketball games at Douglas MacArthur. The freshmen boys’ game ended with the Junior Bombers beating the Cyclones 26-21. Braiden Dewey paced Mountain Home with 14 points, and Coben Inskeep chipped in 10. The Junior Bombers improve to 3-4 on the season.
