Dick Vitale Has Blunt Message For Tim Tebow’s Critics

Ever since Tim Tebow signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 2007 Heisman winner’s critics have come out in full force. Dick Vitale isn’t one of them. Sure, Tebow hasn’t played professional football for a long time. He’s also 33 years old and is attempting to transition from playing quarterback to tight end. Regardless, Vitale doesn’t see it wise to “bet against” Tebow.

Dick Vitale reacts to Kansas landing Remy Martin

Kansas basketball appeared to land the missing piece for a potential national championship caliber squad on Monday when Arizona State guard Remy Martin committed to the Jayhawks. Kansas was familiar with Martin, both from recruiting him out of high school and because Martin led Arizona State to back-to-back wins over the Jayhawks in 2017 and 2018, averaging 15.5 points, 3.0 assists and 3.5 steals over those two games.

The NCAA is no stranger to criticism, and it would seem that NCAA President Mark Emmert, himself, also isn't exactly afraid to air criticisms regarding the organization he oversees. Dick Vitale raises $6.5 million for pediatric cancer research at 16th annual gala

While many people know Dick Vitale for his long-running college basketball commentary on ESPN, what he considers even more important is his work raising money for pediatric cancer research. As Vitale told AA earlier this year, he’s “totally obsessed” with that effort. And the latest expression of that was the 16th annual Dick Vitale Gala, held Friday night in Sarasota, Florida, which saw Vitale raise $6.5 million, even more than the $5 million target he set. Here’s more on that from Doug Fernandes of The Sarasota Herald-Tribune:
