Deborah Ann Woll Discusses Her Latest Dungeons & Dragons Adventure

Deborah Ann Woll, the star of shows like Daredevil and True Blood, also happens to be a huge fan of Dungeons & Dragons. Her latest role puts her in the Dungeon Master’s chair for a new streaming actual play on the Demiplane Twitch channel called Children of Éarte. I sat down with Woll to talk about the show, her influences as a storyteller and how D&D has influenced her as a performer.

Deborah Ann Woll Launches New Ongoing Dungeons & Dragons Show

Daredevil actress Deborah Ann Woll will appear in a new ongoing Dungeons & Dragons live play series. Woll will serve as the Dungeon Master of Children of Earte, a new series hosted by the RPG database/platform Demiplane. She'll be joined by veteran TTRPG live play cast members Hope LaVelle, Alicia Marie, Adam Bradford, Lauren Urban, and Jennifer Kretchmer. An "Episode 0" will air on March 8th where Woll will provide further details about the series and its setting, followed by the official launch of the series on March 15th. Children of Earte (Earte is pronounced Air-tay) is described as a "fairy tale for grown ups" with characters who at first appear to be human commoners but are revealed to be much more over the course of the series. A new podcast has been announced via HBO MAX that will feature former True Blood stars Deborah Ann Woll and Kristin Bauer. The new show will be a rewatch of the series that ran from 2008-2014. The series that centered on Sookie Stackhouse featured a bevy of vampires, werewolves and shape changers and quickly became a hit on the cable outlet. Yet, quality did dwindle in the later years. After its cancellation, it still maintains a cult following that is rabid about the entire series. Recently it was announced that HBO has plans of rebooting True Blood but has not announced any details whether it will be a true do over or if it will concentrate on a totally new story.

Bauer, who played vampire Pam De Beaufort, and Woll, who played vampire Jessica Hamby, will host the rewatch podcast Truest Blood. The podcast will launch on HBO Max as HBO is developing a True Blood reboot with Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and NOS4A2 creator Jami O’Brien. Truest Blood is produced by Safe Haven Productions, the company run by True Blood co-star Janina Gavankar.
