An Apology To Rick Mooday, Paul Jaramillo, Nickole Aguilar Garcia And David Hampton

Once again, a member of the traditional education crew has passively dismissed a point I’ve made without finding any evidence against it (Mr. Mooday made an unsupported side comment about data on test scores in his recent piece). I think this is the fifth or sixth time it happened. There must be a reason for it; maybe there was some flaw in the method of presenting “sources” and “negative controls”. After doing some soul searching, I have realized how unfair I’ve been and would like to offer the following apology to each candidate.

My name is Kurt Anast, I am a Process Engineer and have lived in Los Alamos since 1994 after relocating to the “city on the hill” from Denver, Colo. I have been involved with youth baseball, golf and hockey, coached the girls high school golf team, served as president of LAHA and LAGA, on the Parks and Rec board etc. During this time I have encountered a lot of different people who are dedicated to volunteering and making Los Alamos the special place it is. Over the last year it has been my pleasure to get to know David Hampton through issues related to recreation, as David is Vice Chair of the Parks and Recreation Board.

David Hampton Joins Rio Grande Foundation

ALBUQUERQUE – The Rio Grande Foundation has announced the addition of two new members to its board of directors. The first addition is David Hampton of White Rock. Hampton ran for the Legislature in 2020 and stated that RGF was instrumental in providing him with data and analysis on important issues, which served as the foundation of many of the opinions he expressed in public.
