The cast is rounded out by Billy Burke, Josh Duhamel, Naya Rivera, and David Dastmalchian.

The Suicide Squad’s David Dastmalchian Has Seen James Gunn’s DC Movie, And His Reaction Has Us Crazy Excited

Five years after the Suicide Squad make their theatrical debut, the officially-designated Task Force X will soon return to the big screen, this time under James Gunn’s creative vision. Among the many new characters the Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker added to the team is Abner Krill, a.k.a. Polka-Dot Man, played by The Dark Knight and Ant-Man actor David Dastmalchian. Although the public has a little under two months to go until they can see the R-rated The Suicide Squad, Dastmalchian has already seen the movie, and his reaction to it has us jazzed for its release.

New ‘The Suicide Squad’ Image Teases Idris Elba, Peter Capaldi, and David Dastmalchian Undercover

Today, James Gunn posted on his Twitter account another sneak peek at his upcoming film, The Suicide Squad. In his tweet, he attached a picture of actors Idris Elba (Bloodsport), David Dastmalchian (Polka-Dot Man), and Peter Capaldi (The Thinker) strutting through what looks like some sort of nightclub. The lighting is low, there's a pillar-esque statue covered in some tacky wallpaper, and a woman in the background is either deeply concerned by their appearance, or harshly judging Dastmalchian's clashing clothing patterns.

The Suicide Squad, the new DC film from director James Gunn, is finally hitting theatres and HBO Max in August. The highly-anticipated comic book movie is going to feature some returning characters from 2016's Suicide Squad, including Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Amanda Waller (Viola Davis), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), and Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman). However, there are also many new characters to look forward to, including Polka-Dot Man (David Dastmalchian), T.D.K (Natan Fillion), and Javelin (Flula Borg). In fact, the three men recently got together and recreated their pose from a recent Den of Geek magazine cover.

Dastmalchian, who you might’ve seen recently as the villainous Murdoc on CBS drama MacGyver and who is set to appear in two of this year’s much-anticipated HBO Max flicks The Suicide Squad (August 6) and Dune (October 1) is virtually hosting the 2021 Fangoria Chainsaw Awards on Shudder.

"As a life-long Fango fan and horror hound, it's a great honor to be hosting the Chainsaws, especially in light of the difficult year that we've all faced together," said Dastmalchian in a statement. "The isolation of 2020 was devastating and the amazing horror films of the past year helped many genre fans to endure the lockdowns as well as unifying the horror community in a wonderful way."
