Varsho went 1-for-2 with two walks and a solo home run in Friday's 6-5 win over Colorado. Varsho's fourth-inning homer was his 15th of the season and gave him 50 RBI through 96 games. The young outfielder/catcher has smoldered since the All-Star break, slashing .300/.417/.575 with three home runs, five RBI, eight walks and nine runs scored over 12 contests.

Varsho went 2-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 7-4 loss to the Guardians. Varsho, who was a double-digit base stealer in the minors, hasn't run as much since coming to the majors, but Wednesday's theft was his career-high seventh (caught four times). He has 26 starts at catcher in 2022, which likely qualifies him for that position next season. A catcher-eligible player that runs is a valuable fantasy asset.

Varsho went 3-for-30 in his last 10 games prior to the All-Star break, but he broke out of that slump in a big way Friday. His homer came in the sixth inning to extend the Diamondbacks' lead to 6-0. The 26-year-old is up to 13 long balls, 46 RBI, 42 runs scored, five stolen bases and a .239/.305/.423 slash line through 339 plate appearances.

Varsho isn't starting Saturday's game against the Rockies. Varsho is getting a chance to reset after he went 0-for-11 with a walk and three strikeouts over the last three games. Jordan Luplow will start in right field and bat fifth.

The 26-year-old is locked in at the plate, as he's gone 8-for-16 (.500) with a pair of homers and nine RBI to begin July. For the season, he's slashing .247/.305/.435 with 12 long balls, 41 RBI, 38 runs scored, five stolen bases and 15 doubles through 74 contests. He may sit out against some southpaws, but he'll often pinch hit against right-handed relievers in those games.

Given his lackluster hitting lately, it wouldn't be surprising to see Varsho receive more regular rest with Arizona's outfield at full health.

The 25-year-old is up to a .239/.303/.417 slash line with 10 homers, 32 RBI, 34 runs scored and four stolen bases across 67 contests. While he's slipped out of the leadoff role, his ability to play in the outfield or behind the dish should keep him in the lineup on a near-daily basis.
