Avalanche's Darcy Kuemper: Tending twine in Game 2

Kuemper will guard the home goal in Thursday's Game 2 versus the Blues, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. The Avalanche will use the same lineup that earned a 3-2 win in Tuesday's Game 1, including Kuemper in goal. The 32-year-old has allowed just six goals across four playoff appearances so far, and he'll look to double the Avalanche's series lead to 2-0 with a win Thursday.

Avalanche's Darcy Kuemper: Takes first loss of playoffs

Kuemper allowed three goals on 31 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Blues in Thursday's Game 2. The fourth goal was an empty-netter. Kuemper kept the Blues off the board until the second period. He gave up one goal with the Avalanche down two men, and another came on a turnover, so it's hard to fault the 32-year-old netminder for the loss, his first in the playoffs. This was also the first game he's allowed more than two goals. Kuemper will look to get back on track in Saturday's Game 3 in St. Louis -- there's little reason to think he'll be sat after one unlucky performance.

Avalanche's Darcy Kuemper: Gets win in Game 1

Kuemper stopped 23 of 25 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Blues in Game 1. The Blues put up a good fight in this contest, but they weren't able to get a shot in overtime. Kuemper was able to pick up his third win of the postseason in his return from an eye injury that kept him out of Game 4 in the first round versus the Predators. The 32-year-old is a lock to start for the Avalanche going forward -- they'll look to double their series lead Thursday.

Avalanche's Darcy Kuemper: Officially starting Tuesday

Kuemper will guard the home goal Tuesday in Game 1 of the Avalanche's second-round series versus the Blues, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports. Kuemper allowed on four goals on 61 shots in three appearances during the first-round sweep over the Predators. He suffered an eye injury that kept him out of that series' Game 4, but after a week off, he's been cleared to play again. The Blues are likely to be a tougher test, but Kuemper has been one of the steadiest goalies in the league this year.

Avalanche's Darcy Kuemper 'good to go' for second round of playoffs

The top-seeded Colorado Avalanche did well to complete their first-round sweep of the Nashville Predators via Monday's 5-3 win but did so without having starting goalie Darcy Kuemper in the lineup due to the right eye injury Kuemper suffered when he was poked by the stick of Predators center Ryan Johansen late in the first period of last Saturday's 7-3 victory.

Darcy Kuemper “good to go”

Positive news out of Avalanche practice today: Darcy Kuemper is back, and Jared Bednar said he is “good to go” in resuming his playoff game action. If the St. Louis Blues eliminate the Minnesota Wild tonight in Game 6 at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, they will play the Avs in the second round. We still don’t know when Game 1 will start. While Saturday would have seemed the logical day, if the Blues win tonight, there are whispers that the series might not start until Monday, regardless of what happens tonight.

The Avs had two days off following their first-round sweep of the Nashville Predators. Each of the other seven series will require at least a Game 6 to conclude. Colorado is awaiting the winner of the other Central Division series between St. Louis and Minnesota.
