Assassin’s Creed writer Darby McDevitt announces return to the franchise

The next Assassin’s Creed will have one of its long-running writers back. Darby McDevitt has confirmed he’s returning to the Assassin’s Creed franchise. First reported by VGC, McDevitt had left Ubisoft in March, saying he had decided to set forth on a new adventure. Now, it appears he’ll be returning to Ubisoft to once again work on the Assassin’s Creed series.

Veteran Assassin’s Creed writer Darby McDevitt has returned to Ubisoft and rejoined the Assassin’s Creed team. McDevitt left Ubisoft earlier this year and has since been focusing on his “desire to explore new ideas and unknown frontiers.” The result of this introspection was to return to Ubisoft and continue his journey as they work on Assassin’s Creed Infinity.

‘Assassin’s Creed’ lead writer Darby McDevitt returns to Ubisoft

Darby McDevitt, the lead writer on many Assassin’s Creed titles, is returning to Ubisoft after leaving the company earlier in the year. McDevitt served as lead writer on the Black Flag, Revelations, Bloodlines and Discovery titles in the Assassin’s Creed universe, and also as narrative director on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. McDevitt announced his departure from Ubisoft earlier in the year to pursue “new adventures”.
