Danny Ainge Ducks Jazz Exit Interviews, ‘Day-To-Day’ Duties Not His Role

Danny Ainge doesn’t have time to answer questions about the Utah Jazz’s playoff shortcomings, apparently. Utah was eliminated from the playoffs Thursday night, losing to the Dallas Mavericks in six games despite Dallas missing Luka Doncic for the first three games of the series. Overall, the elimination for the Jazz can be taken as nothing but a disappointment as they were an early favorite to win it all at the start of the 2021-22 season.

NBA rumors: Danny Ainge still keeping in regular touch with Celtics top brass

Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck still exchanges text messages with Ainge about once a week. President of basketball operations Brad Stevens, who was hired by Ainge as the Celtics’ coach in 2013 before replacing him as lead executive last spring, said he and Ainge remain in frequent contact. Assistant general manager Austin Ainge speaks to his father every day. “I was telling him what I think they should be doing against the Mavericks, and he was telling me what he saw against the Nets,” Austin Ainge said. “We even talk about playoff series neither of our teams are involved in. But he’s been rooting very hard for us and is very invested. He obviously cares for us in the front office. He worked with us for so many years. He’s super-invested in the players. He spent hours and hours with these guys, and of course he’s pulling for them.”

Danny Ainge Was Among Celtics’ Big Winners In Game 2 Victory Over Nets

Have the Boston Celtics really accomplished anything yet?. It’s far too early to be booking the Duck Boats given that the Celtics are merely two wins into a playoff stretch where they hope to earn 16 of them. But based on their entire second-half turnaround, which has carried into the postseason with the excitement of their two playoff games, the Celtics continue to be well-deserving of praise.

Eagles News: NFL executive says Howie Roseman “has a little bit of a Danny Ainge syndrome”

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ... “I bet they trade one of those first-round picks, knowing Howie,” another GM said before Roseman did exactly that in a deal with New Orleans. The Eagles sent the 16th and 19th picks with a sixth-rounder to New Orleans for the 18th, 101st and 237th picks this year, plus a 2023 first and 2024 second. “I don’t know who would want to trade with Philly,” an exec said. “Howie has a little bit of a Danny Ainge syndrome. If he is making a deal with you, he has identified something. That is his bread and butter. Now, granted, he is in a position of leverage because he has three first-round picks or whatever it was. And Howie has the ability to think long term, because he is going to be there next year.”
