August Wilson’s legendary play, The Piano Lesson, is returning to Broadway this fall. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington and Danielle Brooks will star in the Broadway revival that is set to debut on September 19, 2022 at the St. James Theater. With Tony Award nominee LaTanya Richardson directing the play, the production is set to run on Broadway for approximately 16 weeks.

‘The Piano Lesson’ Broadway Revival Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Danielle Brooks And More Set For September Debut

Samuel L. Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks are set to star in a revival of August Wilson’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama The Piano Lesson. According to Deadline, LaTanya Richardson Jackson will make her Broadway directorial debut for the production, which will begin performances on Monday, September 19 at the St. James Theatre in New York.

Ciara's next film role will be in The Color Purple. According to Entertainment Weekly, she has been cast in the upcoming musical film adaptation. Ciara will play an adult version of Nettie in the film. A younger version of the character will also be played by Halle Bailey. Ciara is a well-known R&B artist, having made a name for herself with her debut album Goodies in 2004. The singer previously appeared in That's My Boy with Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg. Ciara joins Fantasia Barrino, Danielle Brooks, Taraji P. Henson, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Louis Gossett Jr., and David Alan Grier in the latest adaptation of The Color Purple.
