Hard hit by the pandemic and now facing labor shortages, restaurants are cracking down on diners who don’t show. Setbacks for Le Pen, Macron parties in French regional vote

France's far-right led by Marine Le Pen insisted Monday it could recover from a disappointing first round of regional polls marked by a strong result from the traditional right and another feeble performance by President Emmanuel Macron's ruling party. The vote on Sunday was widely watched as the last national electoral test ahead of presidential and parliamentary elections next year, which polls currently suggest will be a close race between Le Pen and Macron. The National Rally (RN) of Le Pen was well short of forecast gains, while Macron's centrist Republic on the Move party received barely over 10 percent of ballots in an election marked by record high abstention. The vote determines who leads the 13 regions of mainland France and its 96 smaller departments, with the outcome to be decided in next Sunday's second round run-off.

ATLANTA, GA — Rookies can always expect pressure and high expectation from their new team, and rookie safety Richie Grant is no exception. Grant had his "say cheese" moment on Friday morning after signing his first professional contract with Atlanta's own NFL Franchise. The Falcons' second-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft should've been all smiles at that moment, which is all part of a dream coming true.

Different outcomes for Orion baseball

A three-run inning was enough for Alleman to top Orion 4-1 in non-conference varsity baseball on Wednesday, May 19, at the Alleman Athletic Complex in Moline. The Chargers scored first, plating a runner in the top of the second. With one out, Dathan Moore walked. He went to second on Kile Johnson’s single into center field. One out later, Cole Kratzberg singled into left to score Moore.
