Dallas Lee Braden (born August 13, 1983) is a former American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics from 2007 through 2011. Listed at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m) and 185 pounds (84 kg), he both threw and batted left-handed. On May 9, 2010, Braden pitched a perfect game, the 19th in baseball history. The next season, shoulder problems were the first of a series of injuries that forced him to retire in 2014 after not throwing a pitch for two and a half seasons.

Dallas Braden explains roots of his beef with Alex Rodriguez

Dallas Braden has had an issue with Alex Rodriguez ever since a 2010 incident between them, and the former Oakland A’s pitcher explained the root of the beef. Back in 2010, Rodriguez angered Braden by running across the pitcher’s mound following a double play during an April game (video here). As I wrote at the time, Rodriguez’s actions were disrespectful to the pitcher, but Braden also overreacted to the offense.

Elephant Rumblings: Dallas Braden pitched perfect game while hung over

The latest from Jeff Passan of ESPN has team owners preparing to offer a proposal to the Players Association for how to get the 2020 season going amid the coronavirus pandemic. The proposal hasn’t actually been sent yet (it will be “within a week”), and then it has to be agreed to by the union, and even then there are plenty of ways that any plan could be dashed by future flare-ups of the outbreak. But this still feels like some level of progress.
