Cornelius Lucas drops hilarious quotes about free agency after rejoining Commanders

After the first couple days of the legal tampering period, one thing became abundantly clear: the Washington Commanders weren’t going to be big spenders. Ex-Lions OL Cornelius Lucas re-signing with Washington Commanders for 2 years

Cornelius Lucas got his start with the Detroit Lions as an undrafted rookie back in 2014. Now, the big offensive tackle is reportedly getting another multi-year contract. According to his agency, Lucas is re-signing for $8.2 million over two years. The eight-year veteran has hit new levels since landing in Washington. The 6-foot-8 tackle started seven games at right tackle in 2021, after starting eight games at left tackle the previous season. Pro Football Focus ranked Lucas 30th among all tackles with enough snaps to qualify in 2021. The year before? PFF ranked him 22nd at his position. With all that said, he’s never been a full-time starter, but that multi-year deal suggests he’ll get a shot at a starting job come training camp.
