It’s been months since Cody Rhodes left AEW to rejoin WWE in time for WrestleMania 38, but the man occasionally known as the Roller Code-ster is still finding himself being asked to clarify just why he decided to make such a big career move. Rhodes did so again today, responding to a fan on Twitter who declared they were not watching AEW Double or Nothing due to Rhodes’ departure. It should be noted the fan deleted the tweet after Rhodes’ response.

Cody Rhodes Insists The Only Reason He Left AEW Was ‘To Win The Big One’

Cody Rhodes continues to state that he has a great relationship with those in AEW despite his departure. Cody Rhodes left AEW on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, in order to return to WWE, revealing that it is his desire to finally win the WWE championship for the Rhodes family. In the wake of his departure, many rumors were reported about the reason he decided to leave the promotion, but in the months following, Cody has insisted that it was simply time for him to move on and he did not want to be known for simply starting arrival promotion. As a professional wrestler, Cody wants to win the big one, the WWE Championship.

Cody Rhodes parted ways with AEW earlier this year and he’s been on a roll since returning to WWE and he’s quickly become one of the top stars in the company. This weekend the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view will air live, but for the first time Cody won’t be part of the show.

A Current AEW Champion Still Goes To Cody Rhodes For Advice

A current AEW champion has revealed that they still seek advice from Cody Rhodes, despite “The American Nightmare” returning to WWE. Rhodes, who was an integral part of All Elite Wrestling since its inception in 2019, departed the company in February, ultimately returning to Vince McMahon’s promotion for the first time since 2016. The former AEW TNT Champion defeated Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 38 in a surprise appearance and has since become a major part of “WWE Raw.” There is even a countdown clock shown each week to indicate when Rhodes will be making his appearance.
