Cindy Parlow Cone reelected as president of U.S. Soccer Federation

Cindy Parlow Cone won reelection as President of the United States Soccer federation on Saturday. Cone initially assumed the position after Carlos Cordeiro stepped down in March of 2020 due to the United States Women's national team's discrimination lawsuit. She was the vice president at the time. Cordiero then ran against her this year and lost by 86.86 weighted votes.

Cindy Parlow Cone reelected as U.S. Soccer president, defeats Carlos Cordeiro

Cindy Parlow Cone won re-election as U.S. Soccer Federation president on Saturday, fending off a challenge from predecessor Carlos Cordeiro. Cone won 52.9% of the weighted vote from the USSF's National Council, and will now serve a new, four-year term that will expire in 2026, just a few months before the U.S. will co-host that year's World Cup with Canada and Mexico.

The players, who range from World Cup veterans, including Megan Rapinoe and Becky Sauerbrunn to newer players like Trinity Rodman and Ashley Sanchez, said Cone "deeply understands the work that needs to be done to continue to create equality."
