Kings' Christian Wolanin: Sent back to minors

Wolanin was shipped back to AHL Ontario on Wednesday. It's the third move between levels for Wolanin in as many days, so it's possible the blueliner will be recalled before puck drop of Thursday's matchup with San Jose. The 26-year-old defenseman did suit up versus Colorado on Wednesday, logging 16:16 of ice time in which he tallied two blocks, one hit and a minus-1 rating. If the Kings can get some of their injured blueliners back in the lineup, Wolanin figures to stay with the Reign on a more permanent basis.

Christian Wolanin loaned to Ontario, Alex Edler a full participant for LA Kings

Edler, 35, has been sidelined since the December 11 game against the Minnesota Wild, fracturing his ankle early into the opening period. The Kings have been hit HARD by the injury bug lately, with Drew Doughty, Tobias Bjornfot, Matt Roy, and Mikey Anderson all sidelined within the last couple of weeks. Edler’s impending return to the lineup is a welcome sight. The former Vancouver Canuck inked a one-year contract with the Kings during the offseason and got off to a good start.
