The Walking Dead: Christian Serratos on Rosita's Finale Fate

Warning: this story contains spoilers from The Walking Dead series finale. The latest and last victim of The Walking Dead did not want to make it out of the zombie drama alive. Titled "Rest in Peace," Sunday's series finale sent the trio of Rosita Espinosa (Christian Serratos), Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam), and Eugene Porter (Josh McDermitt) on a mission to reach the children's house in the Commonwealth's lower ward. After the Commonwealth army rerouted an invading walker herd away from Governor Pamela Milton's (Laila Robins) gated community, Rosita, Gabriel, and Eugene rescued Rosita's daughter and the other kidnapped children, only to find themselves swarmed by the zombie masses.

Christian Serratos asked for that Rosita fate on The Walking Dead finale

SPOILER ALERT: This article contains spoilers for the series finale of The Walking Dead. Perhaps no show has had as prodigious a body count as The Walking Dead over its 11-season run. So the question when it came to the AMC drama's series finale was not so much a matter of if someone big would die, but rather who. While Luke (Dan Fogler) and Jules (Alex Sgambati) bit the dust at the start of the episode while trying to escape a zombie herd, there was one much bigger domino yet to fall.

Christian Serratos Hosted a Dior Dinner With Champagne and Chisme

Being a Dior Beauty Ambassador has its perks—actress Christian Serratos would know. Along with stacking her medicine cabinet full of couture products, the star of Netflix’s Selena: The Series gets to have hosting duties, like inviting a guest list of close friends to a lavish dinner thrown by the French label. Serratos did just that on December 14, with a private holiday dinner celebrating J’adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime at the San Vicente Bungalows in West Hollywood. Guests included fellow friends of the house Jurnee Smollett, Kiernan Shipka, Sydney Sweeney, and Taylour Paige—all of whom opted for chic getups in muted palettes of black, navy blue, and nude. Serratos, by contrast, donned a bright red, puff-sleeve mini dress and golden pumps. “The color [of the dress] was so festive,” Serratos told W a couple days after the party. “It really allowed us to be very playful with the hair and makeup.” Below, follow the actress—who’s currently working on her final season of The Walking Dead—as she prepped with her team (and husband and daughter nearby, “in case they wanted to party with us!,”) for her big night out.

Christian Serratos and Dior Beauty Kicked Off the Holiday Season With a Winter Wonderland Dinner in L.A.

Just hours after the biggest storm of the season passed through Los Angeles, breaking a rainfall record, the skies cleared up just in time for Dior Beauty’s holiday dinner. Held to celebrate the house’s J’adore fragrance, the intimate party took place at West Hollywood hotspot San Vicente bungalows and was hosted by Christian Serratos, Dior Beauty’s newest ambassador. The original plan had been an alfresco dinner under the stars, but plans are made to be broken, and so the party moved inside to a private dining room transformed into a fairytale winter wonderland modeled after the house’s holiday Atelier of Dreams. The guest list, meanwhile, was just as starry as the decor. The White Lotus costars Alexandra Daddario and Sydney Sweeney were joined by Nesta Cooper, Max Minghella, Alexandra Shipp, Skyler Gisondo, and Grace Van Patten - all decked out in Dior, of course.

Christian Serratos dealt with serious acne and scarring as a teenager. “I would cry tears because of my skin,” says The Walking Dead actress, who most recently portrayed Mexican American star Selena Quintanilla-Pérez in Netflix’s Selena: The Series. “And I was just so embarrassed, so I learned to cover it up.” But she was afraid that people would notice how much makeup she had on, and she felt ashamed of that, too: “I even used to put on makeup before I’d go into the makeup trailer because I was so embarrassed for makeup artists to see my skin.”

Within the past year, Christian Serratos has slipped into the bright-red lipstick and heavy brows of the Tejano music icon Selena for a Netflix biopic series. On The Walking Dead, now filming its final season, a ribbon of fake blood might curl down her neck—a mark of hard living among the zombie hordes. But when her voice pipes through the telephone, the actor is in the midst of a different transformation: “We are pin-curled and halfway done with makeup, I think,” she says brightly, describing a beauty look to correspond with a 1940s-inspired houndstooth two-piece and beret. “I love a good period moment.”
