Mississippi State men's basketball coach Chris Jans landed a familiar face to the program as Will McNair Jr. officially had his Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) processed. McNair Jr., a 6-10 forward from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, played for two of Jans' WAC Championship squads at New Mexico State during the last three seasons. He has two years of collegiate eligibility remaining which includes a COVID season.

Chris Jans has rounded out his staff at Mississippi State with a mix of coaches who have been with him for a while, and a long-time Bulldog assistant. David Anwar will reunite with Jans and James Miller, while 12-year MSU assistant coach George Brooks will be retained on-staff. Anwar has coached at New Mexico State, North Texas, Nebraska, UTEP and Arkansas Fort Smith. He’s coached at least 5 seasons at the most recent 3 stops. Jans earlier in the week announced Miller’s hire, as he also comes from New Mexico State.
