Chris Herren Coming To Frankfort

After two years of rescheduling due to Covid, The City of Frankfort and Frankfort Street Department is bringing a motivational speaker and basketball legend to Frankfort. Chris Herren will be coming to Case Arena. The program will start at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, and will include all Clinton County High School students. Street Department Superintendent Jason Forsythe says he wanted to find a way to help youth with decision making, and addictions and felt bringing Herren to town was someone the kids could relate to.

Former NBA player Chris Herren speaks on overcoming addiction in Amarillo

Tobacco-Free Amarillo (TFA) hosted an event Wednesday night with former NBA player Chris Herren as a guest speaker on the topic of addiction. Herren, a Mcdonald’s All-American basketball player out of high school who had offers from the University of Kentucky and Duke before signing at Boston College, struggled with addiction for most of his playing career. After failing multiple drug tests, he transferred to Fresno State, where he went on to fail another drug test, which led to a month-long rehabilitation stay.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Knoxville First seventh-day adventist church to host Prevention starts with all, the Chris Herren story. Chris Herren was an All-American basketball player and had a stint in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets before struggling with the disease of addiction. Chris has been in recovery since 2008 and now travels the country sharing his story in hopes that it will inspire others. On Thursday January 20th Chris will share his life’s journey in Knoxville at the Knoxville First seventh-day adventist church. This event is free to attend and will also provide a resource fair before and after Chris’s speech that will help those in search of support.

A former NBA player shared his story of drug addiction and sobriety with more than 4,000 students in Ozaukee County on Dec. 1-2. Mel’s Charities, a local nonprofit organization helmed by Tom Stanton, partnered with several organizations to bring NBA player Chris Herren to Ozaukee County for two days of presentations. Herren spoke to students from Port Washington, Grafton, Cedarburg and the University School of Milwaukee.
