Magic's Chasson Randle: Will have minutes limit

Randle will play under a minutes restriction Sunday night against the Nuggets, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. Coach Steve Clifford did not specify how many minutes he expects Randle to play, but the guard is still dealing with the hamstring issue he picked up Saturday night at Utah. Clifford will bring Randle off the bench while rookie R.J. Hampton makes his first career start against his former team.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Terrible shooting effort

Randle added 15 points (5-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds, three steals and two assists over 35 minutes in Thursday's overtime victory over the Pelicans. Filling in as a starter for Michael Carter-Williams (illness), Randle had himself a night despite the poor shooting effort. While for the most part, the shots weren't falling, he still set a season-high with 15 points, and the six rebounds were a new career high. Based on his season thus far, it's fair to view this performance as anomaly.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Starting with MCW out

Randle will start Thursday's game against the Pelicans. With Michael Carter-Williams (illness) out, Randle will get the nod. In three previous starts, he averaged 9.3 points, 2.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 27.7 minutes.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Back to bench Sunday

Randle will move to the bench for Sunday's game against the Lakers. Orlando started Randle over Michael Carter-Williams for Friday's game against Portland, but coach Steve Clifford will revert back to his previous backcourt alignment Sunday. Randle posted 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and a block in 27 minutes Friday.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Joins starting lineup

Randle will start Friday's game against the Trail Blazers. Randle returned to the court Wednesday and will take the place of Michael Carter-Williams (illness) against Portland. It's not yet clear whether Carter-Williams will be able to play, but Randle and Karim Mane should see plenty of run if Carter-Williams is held out.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Listed as questionable

Randle (groin) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Phoenix. Randle sat out Tuesday's matchup after he tweaked his groin during Sunday's loss to the Celtics. With Terrence Ross (knee) also questionable, Michael Carter-Williams and Evan Fournier would be leaned on heavily in the backcourt once again if both Ross and Randle are unable to suit up.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Available vs. Suns

Randle (groin) is available for Wednesday's contest against the Suns. Following a one-game absence due to left groin soreness, Randle will be back in action Wednesday. He's taken on a legitimate backup guard role with Orlando. Over his past 10 appearances, he's averaged 6.2 points, 2.9 assists and 2.1 rebounds in 23.3 minutes.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Ruled out Tuesday

Randle (groin) will not play in Tuesday's game against the Nuggets. The backup guard tweaked his groin during Sunday's loss to Boston, and lingering soreness will cost him at least one game. With Terrence Ross (knee) also sidelined, the Magic will lean heavily on Michael Carter-Williams and Evan Fournier for backcourt contributions, while little-used Karim Mane could also pick up some minutes.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Questionable with sore groin

Randle is listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Nuggets due to a sore left groin. Randle picked up the injury in Sunday's loss to the Celtics, limiting him to just seven minutes of action off the bench. He made a pair of starts earlier in the week with Michael Carter-Williams sidelined, but Randle hasn't shown enough to warrant attention in most fantasy formats.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Scores 13 in start

Randle finished with 13 points (4-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists and two boards in 26 minutes of a 121-113 win against the Nets on Friday. Randle's 13 points were a season-high for the third-year man. Randle has seen his role increase due to injuries in the Magic backcourt and has played at least 20 minutes in his last five games. He'll face the Celtics on Sunday.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Starting Thursday

Randle is starting Thursday's game against the Knicks. Randle will join the starting lineup for the first time this season with Cole Anthony (ribs) and Michael Carter-Williams (illness) both unavailable. Across his past three appearances, Randle has averaged 6.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists over 30.3 minutes per game.

Magic's Chasson Randle: Scores nine in loss

Randle finished with nine points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), two boards and two assists in 18 minutes of a 105-93 loss to Detroit on Tuesday. Randle appeared in his fourth game since joining the Magic, scoring a season-best nine points in the effort. The reserve guard has seen solid playing time in each game this season, averaging 18 minutes across four games. He'll face the Nets on Thursday,

New point guard Chasson Randle excited about chance to help depleted Magic

Dwayne Bacon said Tuesday he’s recently played every back-court role the Magic have asked of him. The former FSU star even played point guard in a limited role during Sunday’s loss at Phoenix. The injury-laden Magic were down to one point guard available for the Phoenix game, so Bacon adapted...

Orlando Magic continue seeking a point guard band-aid with Chasson Randle

The Orlando Magic were already desperate even before Cole Anthony sprained his shoulder Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. The team previously tried Aaron Gordon as the backup point guard before his sprained ankle knocked him out of the lineup. The team was not willing to use Jordan Bone from the two-way spot and went searching on their already-depleted roster for support.

Magic sign Chasson Randle to help offset point guard shortage

The Orlando Magic have signed Chasson Randle to a two-way contract to help offset the team’s painful point-guard shortage. The injury-plagued team lost starter Markelle Fultz to a season-ending knee injury in January. Backup point guard Cole Anthony (shoulder strain) and the recently signed Frank Mason (groin strain) have both been sidelined.
