While Stephenson's picked up four points in his last six games, he hasn't looked very consistent since Jack Eichel joined the lineup. Stephenson scored a goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Avalanche. Stephenson got loose on a breakaway set up by Jack Eichel for the opening tally in the contest. This was Stephenson's second goal and third point in the last three games after he snapped a seven-game drought. The 27-year-old has settled in as the top-line right wing since Eichel joined the team and Mark Stone (back) went on long-term injured reserve. For the season, Stephenson's at 14 tallies, 41 points, 75 shots on net and a plus-4 rating in 50 contests.

Stephenson (COVID-19 protocols) rejoined his teammates for Monday's practice session, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. With Stephenson clearing the league's COVID-19 protocols, he immediately jumped back into the first-line center role. In 43 games this year, the 27-year-old center has tallied 12 goals on 63 shots along with a career-best 26 helpers. Even with Stephenson's strong start to the year, he will almost certainly get bumped from the first line as soon as Jack Eichel (neck) is cleared to play.

As the Vegas Golden Knights take the ice in Tampa Bay on Saturday night to square off with the Lightning, the team will be without a pair of players. Vegas has announced that forward Chandler Stephenson and defenseman Dylan Coghlan have been placed in the NHL’s COVID protocol. The team has indicated that Stephenson and Coghlan would miss only Saturday’s game, but like any COVID situation, the absences could last longer.
