Rivera was recently interviewed on Just Scrap Radio and discussed his new venture into bare-knuckle boxing. Specifically, Rivera was asked about a potential scrap with fellow former UFC star Chad Mendes, who also recently signed with BKFC.

Chad Mendes “loved” his BKFC debut, but unsure of fighting future after win

Chad Mendes is coming off a spectacular win at KnuckleMania 2. Despite the victory, he remains uncommitted to his fighting future. The former UFC title challenger unretired in 2021 and was given clearance from the UFC to compete for BKFC. He quickly signed a three-fight deal with the promotion, and his debut was set for last week’s KnuckleMania card against Joshuah Alvarez.

BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) saw Mendes make his debut this past weekend. It was to be a strong showing for the former UFC featherweight title challenger. KnuckleMania 2 on Saturday February 19th saw Chad Mendes match up with Joshuah Alvarez who has a boxing record of 1-1 in Bare Knuckle fights. The result was a powerful win for the former UFC star, Chad Mendes. Chad dropped Joshuah Alvarez on four separate occasions on route to a TKO victory in the 4th round (see that here).
