Bruce Fogle: ‘I sold a Rembrandt to buy veterinary supplies’

Bruce Fogle, 77, is the world’s best-selling writer of pet-care books: at least two of his titles have sold more than a million copies. A vet with more than 50 years’ clinical experience, he is also director of the London Veterinary Clinic. In 1982 he co-founded the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and was awarded an MBE in 2004 for services to deaf people. Fogle is married to the actress Julia Foster and they have three children, Emily, Tamara and the TV presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle.
