Rafferty was waived by the Ducks on Sunday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports. Rafferty signed a one-year contract with the Ducks in July. If he clears waivers, he'll begin the year with AHL San Diego, although he could be close to a call-up should injuries strike on the big club's blue line.

With the Canucks trending toward a return to the ice after a COVID-19 pause, they elected to add more depth to the active roster. Rafferty has played one game with the big club this season, earning an assist and a shot across 13:58 of ice time.
