Reds' Brandon Bailey: Resumes throwing off flat ground

Bailey (elbow) announced in early January via his personal Twitter account that he resumed throwing off flat ground. Bailey was cleared to throw approximately 11 months after undergoing the second Tommy John surgery of his career in February 2021. Since he isn't a member of the Reds' 40-man roster, Bailey is taking part in spring training with the rest of Cincinnati's minor leaguers, but he's unlikely to be cleared for game action until later in the spring or early in the summer. Once he's deemed 100 percent healthy, Bailey will likely settle into the rotation at Triple-A Louisville.

Buffalo is hiring Texas A&M graduate assistant Brandon Bailey as its next defensive coordinator, according to Pete Thamel of ESPN. Bailey, who joined the Aggies as a graduate assistant ahead of the 2019 season from Tulane, worked with Buffalo head coach Maurice Linguist for one season. Bailey worked under former Aggies defensive coordinator Mike Elko for three seasons before he left to take the head coaching position at Duke.

Reds non-tender Brandon Bailey, bring back 10 others

The Cincinnati Reds have non-tendered right-handed pitcher Brandon Bailey. He missed the 2021 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in February. C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic is reporting that Bailey has agreed to re-sign with Cincinnati on a minor league deal with an invite to spring training. Cincinnati is bringing back the other 10 arbitration eligible players on big league contracts.
