Siena men’s basketball starting 2021-22 season at St. Bonaventure

LOUDONVILLE — The season-opening game for the Siena men’s basketball team is set. The Saints will start their 2021-22 campaign with a Nov. 9 rivalry matchup at St. Bonaventure, the Siena athletic department confirmed Tuesday. The matchup for the Brother Ed Coughlin Franciscan Cup is part of a new two-game contract between the schools to continue their rivalry, with the 2022-23 game scheduled to be played in Albany.

St. Bonaventure men's basketball to host Northern Iowa in nonconference play

St. Bonaventure has announced its first nonconference home game for the 2021-22 men's basketball season. The Bonnies will host Northern Iowa on Nov. 27 at the Reilly Center in Allegany. Northern Iowa said in a release that the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game against the Panthers will be only the third meeting between the two teams, as Bona defeated Northern Iowa in December 1992 at the Reilly Center and in January 1994 at Northern Iowa.

St. Bonaventure: Tim Kenney will not return as athletic director

St. Bonaventure University will not renew the contract of athletic director Tim Kenney. A St. Bonaventure athletic department spokesperson confirmed Wednesday in an email to The News that Kenney's contract is set to expire May 31 and will not be renewed. Bona also said in the email that a decision on naming an interim athletic director will be made no later than Tuesday.
