COLUMBIA COUNTY, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - It’s been just a little over a month since Gov. Brian Kemp signed the bill giving Columbia County its own judicial circuit. On Wednesday, Kemp took another big step announcing former U.S. Attorney Bobby Christine as the county’s first district attorney. We were the first to sit down with him just hours after the announcement.

Alabama man named interim U.S. Attorney following Bobby Christine resignation

An Alabama man was named acting U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia following the resignation of Bobby Christine. David Estes, of Scottsboro, Ala., assumed the duties of First Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia in January 2018. Before coming to the Southern District, Estes was a prosecutor in the Alabama Attorney General's Office and, in 2002, joined the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Alabama as an assistant U.S. Attorney.
