WORCESTER — For the last 70 or so years, Bob Cousy has been, arguably, Worcester’s most famous resident. He arrived here as a Holy Cross freshman in 1946, just after turning 18, from New York City, where he grew up, hardscrabble, as a young child during the Great Depression, and helped lead the Crusaders to the 1947 NCAA Championship and national prominence.

WORCESTER - A statue of one of Worcester's greatest sports legends will debut next week. The likeness of Bob Cousy will be unveiled outside the DCU Center on June 18.
