Finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Music is the latest major accolade for a University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa music lecturer. Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian) musician, composer and scholar Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti was named one of two Pulitzer finalists for a composition called “with eyes the color of time.”

Last year, Thao Nguyen announced that her long-time band Thao & The Get Down Stay Down were breaking up and that she’d continue performing under the name Thao. A few weeks back, she released a new solo single called “Ambition.” Now, she’s teamed up with the non-profit organization Sounds Of Saving to perform a cover for Mental Health Awareness Month. Thao covered Björk’s Debut track “Human Behavior.”

Arctic Monkeys, Björk, Travis Scott, Lorde and more have been announced for the debut edition of Primavera Sound in South America later this year. Three events are set to take place in Brazil, Chile and Argentina in November with the line-ups also including Jack White, Pixies, Interpol, Charli XCX, Beach House, Father John Misty, Phoebe Bridgers and Mitski.

We never thought we would ever see Björk in a film ever again. After all, she is a musician first and foremost, and Lars Von Trier, nor any other film director for that matter, was not going to sully that.

Ahead of its release later this month, Focus Features has just released several new character posters for their new film, The Northman. The new posters give us a look into the all-star cast of the new historical epic, which is based on the legend of Amleth, a Medieval Scandinavian story that is said to have inspired Hamlet, perhaps one of the most well-known dramas of all time.

"Thanks to South by Southwest, I have a job," Michelle Zauner said Saturday at the final keynote of the Austin conference's 2022 edition.
