Bill Bailey completes charity walk in memory of Sean Lock

Comedian and Strictly Come Dancing champion Bill Bailey has raised more than £110,000 by walking 100 miles (160km) in memory of friend and fellow comedian Sean Lock. The route on the South West Coast Path, which took him from Bude in Cornwall to Combe Martin in Devon, was inspired by hikes the men used to do together.

Bill H. Bailey 64 of Mingo Jct., Ohio passed away January 16, 2022 at East Liverpool City Hospital. He was born April 14, 1957 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late William and Alberta (Burgess) Bailey. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, John Bailey and sister, Jane Bailey. He is survived by his daughters, Melissa (Dale) Salsberry, Sharon (Aaron) Irvin, and Emily (Tyler) Payne; brothers, Ed (Sherry) Bailey; Robert (Deb) Bailey; sisters, Betty (John) Swickard, Dorothy Areno, and Helen (Troy) Smith; grandchildren, Andrea, Hannah, Thomas, Miracle, Kyle, Everett, Jackson, Forrest, Annabelle, and Maggie.

Bill Bailey, Director of Parks and Recreation

Mr. Bailey started with the City of Laurel's Department of Parks and Recreation in 1983 as an Auxiliary Employee working as a League Supervisor and Park Maintenance Worker. In 1985, he was hired full-time as a Recreation Leader that included the responsiblity for overseeing the Department's Adult Sports Leagues and assisting with other recreational needs such as the Laurel Municipal Pool, special events and senior programming.
