Ashleigh Cummings is an Australian actress who became famous for her portrayal of Robyn Mathers in the movie ‘Tomorrow, When the War Began’, for which she was nominated for the Best Young Actor award at the 2010 Australian Film Institute Awards. Cummings spent the first 12 years of her life in Saudi Arabia before she relocated to Australia with her family. She had received ballet lessons since she was two years old. At age 14, she enrolled at Brent Street School of Performing Arts for training in dancing and acting. She subsequently studied at Wenona School in North Sydney and was also a student of the film and television school Screenwise. In 2007, Cummings made her screen debut in the Australian musical comedy film ‘Razzle Dazzle’. She appeared in three episodes of Seven Network’s soap opera ‘Home and Away’, in 2009. In the ensuing years, she has delivered memorable performances in shows like ‘Puberty Blues’, ‘Gallipoli’, ‘Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries’, ‘Westside’, and ‘NOS4A2’. For her performance in the 2016 film ‘Hounds of Love’, Cummings received the Best Actress in a Debut Film (Venice Days) Award at the 2016 Venice Film Festival.
