Ant Anstead

Anthony Richard Anstead is an English television presenter, car builder, motor specialist, artist, renowned designer and a restoration expert. He is best recognized as presenter of the Channel 4 aired one-hour automotive show ‘For the Love of Cars’ and co-host of the British television series ‘Wheeler Dealers’ where he replaced Edd China. He started building bespoke cars as a child however initially pursued his career joining Hertfordshire Constabulary as a Police Constable and moving on became a member of the Tactical Firearms Team (TFU). Counted among the youngest armed officers in the history of the UK, Anstead earned two commendations for acts of bravery. His passion for the car world eventually saw him resigning from the police to embark into car building. A virtuoso in car building and restoration, he has built cars for clients including recreation cars and one-offs apart from some exclusive and unique pieces of art and sculpture, many of which finds place in museums and private collections across the world. Starting from ‘For the Love of Cars’, he has featured as presenter in several television shows including documentary TV series’ like ‘Building Cars Live’, one-off TV shows like ‘Craft I Made This’ and TV series’ like ‘Wheeler Dealers’.
