Anna Chapman

Anna Chapman is a Russian intelligence agent, model, and media personality. She was arrested in USA in 2010 as a part of the Illegals Program and was accused of spying on the behalf of the Russian agency “Sluzhba vneshney razvedki.” In July 2010, she alongside other agents was swapped as a part of the Russia–U.S. prisoner swap. Born in Volgograd to a senior KGB official, Chapman attended Moscow University from where she earned a master's degree in economics. In 2001, she met her future husband Alex Chapman whom she married a year later and divorced in 2006. During this time, she worked in a number of companies, including Barclays and NetJets. In 2009, Chapman moved to New York and was soon arrested for acting as an agent of a foreign nation without notifying the U.S. Attorney General. Since her return to Russia, she has worked in several fields, including as a catwalk model, the head of a youth council, and a television series host.
