Andrew Wallace, local wrestler, places third at state meet

Local wrestler Andrew Wallace, 14, placed third in his 119-pound weight class at the Kids Freestyle State Championships in Fresno on June 5. Wallace, from Lompoc, started wrestling at the age of 4. He's dealt with disruptions in his training and competing over the last two years due to the coronavirus pandemic and a broken collarbone that required surgery, an injury he suffered playing youth football.

The House of Representatives today chose Andrew Wallace as the new Speaker. Wallace has been the member for the Queensland Sunshine Coast electorate of Fisher since 2016. He worked as a carpenter and barrister before entering parliament. He is probably pleased to have this prestigious post. It pays well and comes with a nice office. Reverend Andrew Wallace Durham Sr., 92 of Connersville went home to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 27, 2021 at his home. Visitation for Andrew will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Park Road Christian Center, 120 W. 25th Street, Connersville, Indiana 47331. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Jeff Meadows of New Life Ministries officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery. Urban Winkler funeral home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
