An exhibition boxing card featuring Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Anderson Silva that was scheduled to take place Saturday in the United Arab Emirates was postponed. TMZ Sports reported Friday the event, officially dubbed Global Titans Fight Series: The Showcase in the Skies of Dubai, was called off following the death of UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan that led the country to declare a three-day mourning period.

Silva is arguably the most successful fighters in UFC history, having held the middleweight title for nearly seven years, amassing 10 title defenses, and accruing numerous records inside the promotion. “The Spider” left the organization in 2020 after losing three fights in a row and seven of nine (including one No Contest).
