Rick Wakeman, Alan Parsons on Queen’s 2021 Birthday Honours List

Rick Wakeman, Alan Parsons, Lulu, Alison Moyet and Engelbert Humperdinck, were among the musicians and entertainers recognized on the Queen’s 2021 birthday honours list. The Yes keyboardist, who received a CBE [Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire] said he was “stunned and genuinely very proud” in his statement. The news was revealed on June 11.

Alan Parsons and Marillion to Headline Cruise to the Edge 2022

Alan Parsons, Marillion, Al DiMeola and Transatlantic will headline Cruise to the Edge 2022, set for May 2 through 7. The five-night prog-rock event, booked for the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas, sails from Port Canaveral, Fla., to the Private Isle of Labadee and the Perfect Day at CocoCay. Reservations begin June 9 at noon ET.

Cruise To The Edge, progressive rock’s largest festival at sea is set to return in 2022 with it’s biggest cruise ever. The official artist lineup has been announced and includes the largest number of acts to sail the prog seas. The 5-night cruise sails from Port Canaveral, Florida, May 2nd – 7th, 2022, aboard the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas visiting the Private Isle of Labadee and the Perfect Day at CocoCay. Reservations will reopen next Wednesday, June 9th, at Noon Eastern.

Fall concerts coming to Twin Cities include Monkees farewell tour and Alan Parsons

Indoor concerts are returning in the fall with two blasts from the past — the Monkees and the Alan Parsons Live Project — headed to Minneapolis' State Theatre. For the Monkees, it will be their farewell tour. Actually, it's just two original surviving members of the Prefab Four, Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith. They will perform Nov. 7 at the State.
