This week, U.S. Rep. Al Lawson announced local governments in his North Florida district will get almost $295 million in federal funds to help recover from the pandemic. “The funds will be provided through the U.S. Treasury Department’s Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program. The program was created by the historic American Rescue Plan that was passed by Congress to provide emergency funding for local governments as they cope with budget gaps and recover from COVID-19,” Lawson’s office noted.

Al Lawson: More than $21 Million in Stimulus Funds Going for Vaccines in Jacksonville and Tallahassee

On Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Al Lawson, D-Fla., showcased how the recent $1.9 trillion federal stimulus package is helping fight COVID-19 in North Florida. Lawson said that six North Florida Community Health Centers will get $21,152,500 to help with vaccines, part of $6 billion included in the stimulus to expand vaccination efforts in underserved communities.
