FRANKLIN TWP. – A Canton woman was killed in a single-car crash early Saturday morning in Portage County. Jeneene Daniels, 50, was driving westbound on Summit Road just before the Powerdmill Road roundabout at 1:28 a.mwhen her Chevy Cruze traveled off the right side of the road and then swerved back left, striking a curb, overturning and hitting a utility pole, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

More than dozen injured in downtown Austin shooting

A shooting in a busy part of downtown Austin, Texas, early Saturday injured at least 13 people, including two who are in critical condition. The state of play: Gunfire erupted around 1:30 a.m. along 6th Street, a popular area with bars and restaurants. The suspected shooter remains at large, Austin police said. "It is unknown if there is one, or multiple suspects involved," they noted, adding the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was struck and killed by a semi on Interstate 465 Saturday morning, Indiana State Police said. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. on I-465 southbound near the Interstate 74 exit on the west side of Indianapolis. The man was transported to an area hospital and died a short time later.
