Abigail Leigh Spencer is an American actress who works in television as well as in films. She became popular with her roles in the drama series 'Rectify’ as well as the sci-fi series 'Timeless'. A native of Gulf Breeze, Florida, she made her acting debut with a role in the soap opera 'All My Children'. Her performance won her a 'Soap Opera Digest Award' for Outstanding Female Newcomer. Over the next few years, she mostly played guest roles in several TV shows. She earned appreciation for her role of Dr. Erin Jameson in the television series 'Hawthorne'. Slowly with the help of her dazzling looks and amazing acting skills, she managed to grow a huge fan following. She made her film debut when she was around the age of twenty, playing a role in the film 'Campfire Stones'. Other films she has appeared in include 'Jekyll', 'This Means War' and 'Chasing Mavericks'. She earned a nomination for the 'Madrid International Film Festival Award' for her role in the film 'Beautiful Now'. Her most recent work in television is the lead role of history professor Lucy Preston in the sci-fi TV series 'Timeless'. The show has been appreciated by critics and Spencer's role has earned her a nomination for the ‘Teen Choice Award’.
