Phillies' Aaron Nola: Fans nine in loss

Nola (1-3) allowed three runs on seven hits over six frames Friday, striking out nine and taking a loss against the Mets. Nola found himself locked in a pitcher's duel with Tylor Megill to begin the game. He yielded just two singles through four shutout innings before the Mets finally broke through in the fifth. He gave up a two-run single to Jeff McNeil before Pete Alonso tacked on an insurance run with his sixth-inning solo blast. The Phillies were no-hit, handing Nola his third loss in the last four outings. He'll carry a 3.90 ERA into his next outing, a home rematch with the Mets next week.

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Shuts down Milwaukee

Nola didn't factor into the decision during Sunday's 1-0 loss to Milwaukee, allowing one hit and one walk with seven strikeouts in seven scoreless innings. Nola pitched about as well as possible, but his superb performance was unfortunately matched by opposing starter Eric Lauer. The 28-year-old Nola submitted an excellent 84 game score by allowing just two baserunners compared to seven strikeouts and lowered his ERA from 5.52 to 3.74 in the process. He'll look to keep things rolling against the Mets on Friday.

Alec Bohm, Aaron Nola Face Early-Season Proving Ground at Coors Field

Through 10 games the Philadelphia Phillies are 4-6, 4th in the National League East, and have lost six of their last eight games. For a team with sky-high expectations, their performance – from big name free agents and prospects alike – has been lackluster. Conversely, the Colorado Rockies, a team without much expectation of being competitive, have exceeded off-season predictions – the club is 6-3, 3rd in the National League West, and 2nd in the league in team batting average (.277).
