Aaron Finch is an Australian cricket player. He was part of the 2015 World Cup-winning Australian team that defeated New Zealand to win the prestigious tournament. Though he has played one day cricket and test cricket for Australia, Finch is best known for his records in the shortest version (Twenty20) of the game. On July 3, 2018, he scored 172 runs in a Twenty20 match against Zimbabwe, and became only the second Australian batsman to score two centuries in Twenty20 internationals (T20I). He currently holds the record for the highest individual T20I score by an opening batsman. Since he was the captain of his team when he scored 172 runs against Zimbabwe, he also holds the record for the highest T20I score by a captain. In the popular Twenty20 cricket league the ‘Indian Premier League’ (IPL), Aaron Finch has played for teams like ‘Pune Warriors India,’ ‘Rajasthan Royals,’ ‘Delhi Daredevils,’ ‘Sunrisers Hyderabad,’ ‘Kings XI Punjab,’ and ‘Gujarat Lions.’ He skipped the 2019 edition of the ‘IPL’ in order to focus on the 2019 ‘Cricket World Cup.’
