Man Found Guilty Of 1986 Rape And Murder Of Minnesota Nursing Home Aide Found Dead In Her Home

A Minnesota man was found guilty of murdering a mother more than 36 years ago when he was still a teenager. Michael Carbo Jr., 54, is expected to spend the rest of his life in prison after a jury found him guilty on Tuesday for the 1986 murder of Nancy Daugherty, according to a St. Louis County Attorney’s press release. Daugherty’s case went unsolved for decades until 2020 when investigators enlisted experts to utilize genetic genealogy to reexamine physical evidence from the crime scene, linking Carbo to the murder.

Criminal justice reform activist and former prosecuting attorney, Adam Foss, has been charged with rape, according to New York City officials. Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr. announced the indictment on Tuesday, formally charging Foss with first-degree rape and first-degree sexual assault, according to a press release. Prosecutors say the former Boston attorney, whose primary residence is in Los Angeles, raped a 25-year-old woman on Oct. 21, 2017.

A 17-year-old was taken into police custody in the slaying of a Texas grandmother who was gunned down while visiting her son’s gravesite several months ago, police said. Yolanda N'Gaojia, 52, was fatally shot in March at a cemetery in Killeen while paying respects to her recently deceased son. On Saturday, Killeen Police Department announced they’d arrested Christian Lamar Weston in connection with N'Gaojia’s killing.

Brother Of Former NFL Player Turns Himself Into Police After Deadly Shooting Of Youth Coach

The brother of a retired NFL cornerback has turned himself in to police following the shooting of a beloved youth football league coach over the weekend in the Dallas area. Yaqup Talib, 39, was identified as the suspect and police issued a first-degree felony warrant for murder for his arrest on Sunday. He’s being held at the Dallas County Jail on murder and probation violation charges.
