One person treated at area hospital after incident in Ithaca

Police say that on Wednesday around 9:37 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of the South Aurora Street Bridge over East Green Street for a welfare check. Officers were told that there was a suicidal subject at that location. They were initially unsuccessful in finding the person — but after speaking with the person who notified authorities — they located the person on West Buffalo Street.

Syracuse Airport concludes main runway rehab project ahead of schedule

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WWTI) — The main runway rehabilitation project is complete at the Syracuse Hancock International Airport. The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority announced on Friday that construction on the “Runway 10-28 Rehabilitation Project” has been completed ahead of schedule. This project was a five-month undertaking and saw the remediation and reconstruction of the primary runway at the Syracuse Hancock International Airport.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Syracuse Regional Airport Authority (SRAA) on Friday announced that crews have finished construction of the nearly $11 million runway 10-28 rehabilitation project. The contractors completed the work “ahead of schedule” in an effort that lasted about five months, the SRAA said in its Friday news release.
