Trial set in Kaukauna murder case

A November 9th trial date is set for a Kaukauna murder suspect. Dontae Payne is charged in Outagamie County Court with First Degree Intentional Homicide and Armed Robbery. Payne is accused of shooting Brian Porsche to death in a West Division Home during a drug robbery back in March. He faces life in prison if convicted.

Scott sentenced to life in prison

An Appleton man will spend the rest of his life in prison for killing his estranged wife. An Outagamie County judge rules that Johnny Scott will not be eligible for parole on one count of First Degree Intentional Homicide. Scott shot and killed his wife–Annie Ford–at a home along East Canary Street back in September of 2017. Scott also pointed a gun at his son during the incident.

Appleton teen found guilty of killing his grandparents

An Outagamie County jury finds a teenager guilty of killing his grandparents. Alexander Kraus is convicted on two counts of First Degree Intentional Homicide. Kraus shot Dennis and Letha Kraus to death in their Grand Chute home back in April of 2019. Because Kraus claimed mental disease at the time of the crime, the jury was also asked to determine if he appreciated the wrongfulness of his actions at the time–which they decided he did. Kraus faces life in prison when sentenced on August 16th.

APPLETON - A jury will decide this week whether a Neenah teenager was mentally ill when he fatally shot both of his grandparents more than two years ago. Alex Kraus, 19, pleaded guilty in late June to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide, but hopes to convince a jury he was suffering from a mental illness at the time and wasn't able to appreciate what he did was wrong.
