NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (WKRC) - Officials have finally announced a cause of death for 80s rock music video star Tawny Kitaen, who died in her home on May 7 at the age of 59. The model and actress famously appeared in multiple music videos for hair metal band Whitesnake and on multiple album covers for the glam metal group Ratt.

SANTA ANA (CBSLA) – Actress Tawny Kitaen’s cause of death was revealed to be dilated cardiomyopathy, or heart disease, on Thursday. Five months after she passed away on May 7, 2021, the Orange County Coroner’s Office confirmed that her passing was natural and also partially attributed to mild coronary atherosclerosis, or coronary artery disease. She was reported to have a variety of antidepressants, anti-anxiety medication and painkillers in her system including hydrocodone, alprazolam, mirtazapine, pregbalin and acetaminophen.
